Flashback: Chai Adar, 5754: Reactions were swift and tough to the shooting on Tuesday of four Lubavitcher Chasidim in a drive-by attack on their van that sparked fear here.The vehicle had been part of a convoy accompanying the Lubavitcher Rebbe back to the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn from successful eye surgery in Manhattan. Tirtza Ben David drives two hours a day to take her two young daughters, Moriyah, 4, and Chana, 2, to the Lubavitch Cheder Day School in S. Paul, Minn. It’s a small school, she says, where each child gets personalized attention and the chance to learn in ways that best suit their needs ■ “We find that there are many parents who think a lot about Jewish education,” he continues.  By temporarily removing the financial factor from that decision, we hope more parents will consider giving it a try ■ more

In my first visit to Cuzco, I stayed in two different hotels. One of them was the Shlomi hostel right next to the Chabad of Cuzco, better known as Beit Chabad. Yes, you read that right—there is a Chabad in the middle of the Andes that helps visitors with prayers, kosher food, socialize and of course observation of the important religious holidays or Shabbat.
