Earlier this month, hundreds gathered at the Jewish Children’s Museum to look back on another successful year at JNet. The theme of the evening, “A Chossid Macht a Seviva” (a Chossid creates an environment), was especially apt as the room was permeated with tremendous pride, for being part of a greater good and for reigniting another Jew’s spark ■ more

Leb'n Mit Moshiach
 Moshiach of the Generation

As long as they’re talking about “Emunah” (faith ) in Moshiach! When the Previous Rebbe publicized his “kol koreh” (proclamation) of “l’alter l’teshuvah l’alter l’Geulah,” this announcement made great waves, and stirred up quite a commotion. This became the talk of the day amongst American Jews, who were quite complacent until then to the issue of faith in Moshiach ■ more

Got Bitachon?
 Raishis Arisosaichem - Priorities
One important application of our bitachon in Hashem, is in regard to the order in which our responsibilities are pursued. Every person has a myriad of items to complete on any given day, ranging from spiritual to material. The question is; in which order will they be attended to. Often we may not give attention to the fact that certain items receive precedence over others ■ more

The Chassidishe Parsha
 Maamar Vihinei Parach Mateh Ahron"
This week’s Parsha discusses the major dispute that transpired with Korach and the priests. Hashem had commanded that the priesthood be given to Ahron and his descendents, and Korach made a jealous attempt to usurp the priesthood for himself, dragging many elite members of the Jewish people into a futile dispute against Moshe and Ahron in the process. This dispute eventually led to the death of Korach and his followers, leaving a stain on the trust the people had in Moshe to appoint their leaders ■ more

The Chassidishe Parsha
 Parsha Shlach: Vayishlach Yehoshua Miraglim
“Vayishlach Yehoshua...Miraglim": This week’s Haftorah, mentions the sending of spies to Yericho by Yehoshua, and thus relates to the similar action taken by Moshe in this week’s Parsha. We are all aware of the episode that occurred with the spies sent by Moshe and the tragic outcomes that resulted; the entire Jewish people between the ages of 20 and 60 were destined to die in the desert and not enter into Eretz Yisrael as result of the sin. We would think that such a spy mission would never be repeated in our history, and certainly not by those that lived in that generation ■ more
